Chinese character writing worksheets
A free Chinese handwriting worksheet generator: type characters or whole words and get a sheet with models, stroke order and practice boxes. Print or save as PDF in one click, no sign-up.
What the generator can do
- Whole words. 老师, 中国人 — a word is written in joined boxes, like in Chinese exercise books, not as separate characters.
- Stroke order. Above the row, every stroke step by step with a direction arrow.
- Components. Parts are colour-coded: 好 = 女 “woman” + 子 “child”. Characters stick better this way.
- Three modes. Trace faint characters; “stroke by stroke” — each box adds one stroke until the character is complete; or just a model and empty boxes with a 米 or cross grid.
- Pinyin line. Four guide lines above the box, like in Chinese copybooks.
- Any number of boxes. 3 to 30 boxes per row and as many rows as you like — even a full page for one character. Presets for kids, teens and adults, boxes side by side, 2 columns.
- Straight from lessons. Teachers press “📝” next to a lesson in the course editor — its words go into the worksheet automatically.
How to make a worksheet
- Type characters or words separated by spaces — e.g. “你好 谢谢 再见”.
- Check the pinyin and meaning (filled in automatically) and choose the settings.
- Press “Make a worksheet”, then “Print / PDF”.
